Yesterday I attended round #5 of the OMK / Way To Win - 2WD Fall Classic race series hosted by OMK (Oslo R/C Car Club) and R/C distributor Way To Win.
The race series is run over 8 rounds on OMK's Astro track partially under the flood lights in the evening. Race format consists of open free practice and then 3 qualifiers and 3 finals.
Even though the evenings here are getting really cold now and the traction is getting lower I was able to run my new ORCA equipped XRAY XB2 '17 with only minor changes to my basic high grip astro setup.
I was able to win all 3 qualifying rounds to take the overall TQ for the evening.
For the first A-final I was able to lead from start to take a comfortable win.
For the second final I got off to a good start but then ran a corner too close to the track marker and lost 2 positions. From 3rd I was able to catch up, pass the cars in front and take over the lead again. Opened up a small gap and took another win and also secured the overall win for round #5 of the series.
Decided to also run the 3rd and last final to get as much track time in as possible. I got off to a perfect start and was able to work up a comfortable lead to take a 3rd win of the evening.
